MD in traumatology and orthopedics with over 30 years of clinical experience

MB, PhD Piotr Andrzej Piekarczyk

First, I listen, then I examine. Finally, I propose a solution that truly restores functionality. Over three decades in the operating room and clinic, I've seen how precision in decision-making translates to patients' quality of life. Orthopedics and Traumatology of the Musculoskeletal System is, for me, a craft based on experience, but also on humility towards each individual case.

My professional DNA was shaped by hundreds of shifts and thousands of consultations at the Clinic of Traumatology and Orthopedics of the Military Institute of Medicine. I deal with the full spectrum of injuries: from multi-site injuries to complicated joint fractures, hip socket reconstructions, or pelvic fractures. I also treat overuse and degenerative conditions of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, and foot, always starting with what is most beneficial for the patient: conservative therapy tailored to the goal or a precisely planned procedure.

In surgical work, I combine planning based on modern diagnostics and 3D imaging with modern angular stability plate fixations and reconstructive techniques that restore the anatomical geometry of joints. In conservative treatment, I use methods that support tissue regeneration (including platelet-rich plasma, hyaluronic acid, Goldic, Orthokine, stem cells - SVF), so that the patient returns not only to "daily life," but to the activity they love. My priority is always pain-free movement and return to functionality.

Science and teaching are a natural extension of my clinical practice for me. I defended my doctoral thesis on the results of surgical treatment of distal humerus fractures, I am a member of specialized orthopedic organizations, including Faculty AO Poland, Key Opinion Leader Stryker, I conduct training and share experience with younger doctors.

Years of systematic participation in training and courses is my natural path to deepening knowledge, gaining new experiences and skills, to help patients in the most effective way with access to the most modern treatment methods.

Areas of specialization

Specialization icon - Treatment of severe multi-organ and multi-site injuries

Treatment of severe multi-organ and multi-site injuries

Surgical treatment of patients after severe injuries suffered as a result of traffic accidents, falls from height, or sports injuries (high-energy injuries); these injuries are characterized by multifragmentary, crushed bone fractures, which make anatomical bone alignment difficult.

Specialization icon - Treatment of complicated joint fractures

Treatment of complicated joint fractures

Complicated joint fractures requiring appropriate surgical approaches, adequate fracture reduction techniques with anatomical restoration of articular surfaces, and well-planned stabilization techniques until bone healing.

Specialization icon - Reconstructive treatment of malunited joint fractures

Reconstructive treatment of malunited joint fractures

Involves pre-planned intra-articular osteotomies followed by proper alignment of bone fragments to achieve correct joint movement.

Specialization icon - Treatment of pelvic fractures, including hip socket fractures

Treatment of pelvic fractures, including hip socket fractures

Hip socket fracture is the most difficult part of the musculoskeletal system to treat surgically due to difficult surgical access, the possibility of damage to blood vessels and nerves, and the need for the most precise alignment of fragments.

Specialization icon - Treatment of degenerative joint changes

Treatment of degenerative joint changes

Non-surgical treatment of degenerative joint changes: glenohumeral, elbow, radiocarpal, hip, knee, ankle joints, as well as degenerative and post-traumatic degenerative changes of menisci and labrums; joint regeneration using the following preparations: platelet-rich plasma, hyaluronic acid, Goldic therapy, Ortokine therapy, stem cells.

Specialization icon - Treatment of inflammatory and overuse conditions of the musculoskeletal system

Treatment of inflammatory and overuse conditions of the musculoskeletal system

Treatment of inflammatory and overuse conditions of the musculoskeletal system: tennis elbow, golfer's elbow, jumper's knee, heel spur, de Quervain's syndrome, Morton's syndrome, frozen shoulder, periarticular bursitis, greater trochanteritis, iliotibial band syndrome; treatment with platelet-rich plasma preparations.

Specialization icon - Treatment of post-traumatic, overuse, and degenerative pain syndromes of the spine

Treatment of post-traumatic, overuse, and degenerative pain syndromes of the spine

Non-surgical treatment of post-traumatic, overuse, and degenerative pain syndromes of the spine using platelet-rich plasma preparations, Goldic and Ortokine therapy.

Specialization icon - Treatment of post-traumatic, overuse, and degenerative pain syndromes of the sacroiliac joints

PRP Therapy

Joint Treatment with Platelet-Rich Plasma PRP

Joint pain, limited mobility, and recurring inflammation are problems that can significantly impair daily functioning. These ailments can affect both physically active individuals and patients with degenerative joint disease, after injuries or overloads.

One method that has gained significant importance in orthopedics and regenerative medicine in recent years is Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy, which involves treating joints with the patient's own biological material.

Proximal humerus fracture

A 76-year-old female patient suffered a fracture from a fall from standing height. The fracture was multi-fragmentary with significant angular displacement of fragments. Without surgical treatment, the patient would not have regained good range of motion and muscle strength.

Surgery was performed involving open reduction of the fracture with proper alignment of bone fragments and fixation using a plate with angular stable screws. Additionally, reconstruction of the damaged shoulder ligament apparatus was performed and postoperative rehabilitation was initiated.

After 4 months, the patient regained normal range of motion, muscle strength, and full limb function.

Patient Testimonials

Mateusz

I came to the Doctor with debilitating knee pain. It turned out to be "jumper's knee" while two other orthopedists said it was just regular degeneration. The Doctor offered platelet-rich plasma injections and openly dismissed another orthopedist's proposal for surgery. I've only had one session of the plasma so far, so I'll see the effects in some time.

The Doctor is very thorough. He carefully reads medical documentation and based on that and the results of several ordered tests, he proposes treatment. He's also very friendly. I wholeheartedly recommend him. He has no equal.

Patient

I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Piekarczyk. I went to him for a private visit and continued treatment on the National Health Fund at the hospital on Szaserów Street.

A person who really knows what he's doing. Despite a hopeless fracture where other doctors suggested inserting a prosthesis, Dr. Piotr undertook to fix the fracture and did it as best as possible in this case.

After the operation, I could confidently go to him for frequent consultations, and he always based the check-ups not only on conversation but practically every time on imaging studies. A busy doctor, but with such experience, skills, and approach to the patient, it's no wonder he's swamped with work :)

Katarzyna

Unmatched. He operated on my ankle after mistakes by other doctors. Other specialists (supposedly outstanding) proposed ankle fusion (arthrodesis) or replacing the joint with an artificial one. I was devastated - I was 36 years old at the time of the accident...

Dr. Piekarczyk inserted a bone graft and I walk normally. I hope it lasts as long as possible. Thank you very much! To say I'm grateful is too little.

Katarzyna Świątkowska

An excellent specialist, a doctor for the most difficult fractures. In addition, a person with enormous empathy and understanding for the patient.

At the hospital on Szaserów Street, Dr. has the best opinions. Everyone says that if Dr. Piekarczyk operated, there's nothing to worry about.

Ewelina D.

Dr. Piekarczyk operated on my broken elbow at WIM on Szaserów Street. As it turned out, the Doctor is not only an excellent and well-known specialist in the field, but also a wonderful person who cares for his patients (his role doesn't end in the operating room).

The Doctor demonstrates above-average commitment, care, empathy, and a sense of humor, thanks to which visits take place in a great atmosphere. I recommend him with all my heart!

Doctor - thank you once again!! :-)

Rafał

An excellent orthopedist with exceptional skills. I had a very seriously broken pelvis and forearm after a motorcycle accident.

Dr. Piotr Piekarczyk and his team undertook the operation. It lasted almost 8 hours. The stabilization turned out great, rehabilitation is progressing quickly. Thank you!

Patient

A super specialist who, along with his team, puts together nasty fractures. In addition, a very friendly person, 100% dedicated to treating patients.

He examines thoroughly and provides detailed information about the disease. Effective in action.

Edyta

The Doctor is a golden person. He fixed and healed my ankle. Committed to his work, an excellent professional.

I'm extremely happy that I ended up with Dr. Piekarczyk for surgery at the hospital. I'll definitely remember this name and won't hesitate to use his consultation after the cast is removed. I wholeheartedly recommend.

Patient

I came to the Doctor with a very complicated Pilon-type fracture. The Doctor successfully performed the operation and then comprehensively took care of my leg - he monitors the growth process, gives hyaluronic acid and platelet-rich plasma injections, which significantly affect comfort related to pain and joint mobility as well as bone healing.

The Doctor is a wonderful, committed specialist who comprehensively explains the treatment process and willingly answers all questions. An additional asset is his sense of humor, which makes it easier for me to go through this difficult time. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Piekarczyk.

Kasia K.

An excellent doctor, a professional in his field - he quickly diagnosed my difficult problem and accurately selected treatment.

The Doctor creates a nice and friendly atmosphere in the office, takes very good care of the patient. Heart on his sleeve. I sincerely recommend.

Waldemar Giro

I had an 8-fragment fracture of my right shoulder. A mess.

The operation and care provided by Dr. Piotr led to my arm being fully functional. I would have been disabled. I highly recommend.

Patient

Dr. Piotr Piekarczyk is a wonderful and concrete doctor. If it weren't for him, I would be in a wheelchair.

And he undertook my operation without hesitation. Doctor, thank you very much once again.

Lukasz

A fantastic specialist who saved my leg after a talus fracture (into several pieces) and ligament rupture. I underwent a very difficult operation, in my opinion, after which I was left with 6 permanent screws. 4 in the talus, 2 in the tibia.

After 3 months, I could return to light training, and after half a year, I run freely. Next year I plan to return to competition starts and so far everything is on the right track. I definitely recommend this surgeon to everyone.
